PALILULA TAKES CARE ABOUT VULNERABLE CITIZENS
10.12.2012

In 1985 the United Nations declared December 5th for the International Day of volunteers. Volunteers are people of good will for their work do not expect financial compensation other than moral and social satisfaction, and time and attention to helping others as an expression of humanity, solidarity and reciprocity, and a sense of responsibility for their community.Palilula Municipality, in the scope of celebration of this day, opened the Municipal doors for the volunteers of `Svetozar Markovic` high school. Boban Dzunic, president of the Municipality, welcomed the students. `We have good cooperation with all schools at the territory of our Municipality. On this day - Volunteer Day, we want to show the conditions we are working and the way Municipality realized its authorities, how does it function. Marija Brajdic, head of Municipal administration, put efforts to represent the work of all services. The intention was to help young people to realize our work-says Brajdic, and also to help them get to know better with the professions in order to help them find more easily their future vocations and find their easier ways of education.

This is not the first time Palilula cooperates with the young, specially high students from `Svetozar Markovic`. Recently, with the president decision, in the scope of Presidents cabinet affairs, the Office for youth was opened and coordinator was named. It will be in Rudnicka street. Our intention was, emphasizes the president, to make this office closer to young people, so that they could be able over educational activities and lectures continue their free time spending together after school hours, realize the projects, interests and inform themselves about all matters that are for young generation unique. The use of this volunteering is mutual, volunteers do not get any cash money, but where they are, they always learn something. `Svetozar Markovic` in this way helps their students in finding the best faculties.

`I would like to work in legal departmant, and I am planning to get enroll in Law Faculty in Nis, and I hope that I would be able one day to work in the institution like this is`, says Andjela Ilic. Local self government with the one that the high school cooperates also can be of great help to students in finding their future vocations. `My experience here is very good since I found out that our Municipality cooperates with Bulgaria. It is very important for me since I am planning to enroll the faculty in Bulgaria, Department for equestrian Sport`, says Masa Djordjevic. Our school with Palilula Municipality also has the cooperation with France, I was in the group of students who visited French town Amien. I know that we, as a school, has been also twinned with Doulains in France. The visit to Municipality was a good opportunity that young people get introduced with the work of authorities that are dealing and with various duties.

The students specially liked the duties of the Municipal Council. Milos Stojiljkovic, member of Municipal Council introduced them with Council`s work and duties.

Volunteering of the students in Palilula was completed with visiting President Cabinet. They found out facts about PR, protocol, projects.

All the students got promo material of Municipality - journal, brochures and other publications.
